Magadan Region’s gold output rises 2% to 9.3 tns in Jan–Apr
MAGADAN, May 18 (PRIME) -- The combined gold production of companies in Russia’s Magadan Region rose by 2% on the year to 9.3 tonnes in January–April in spite of the quarantine measures in the region, the region’s government said in a statement on Monday.
The output of alluvial gold amounted to 144.6 kilograms.
“In the next several years, the region plans to raise production to 50 tonnes. Production is to grow at the Yolochka and Natalkinskoye fields, and development of the Shturmovskoye field is expected to start,” the government said.
In 2019, the region’s gold output grew by 9.4 tonnes to 46.36 tonnes.
